Alison Sweeney and Lisa Rinna are paying tribute to Patrick Muldoon.
The Days of Our Lives star, 57, died suddenly on Sunday, April 19, his manager confirmed to Variety. His death followed a heart attack, according to Deadline.
After the news, Sweeney and Rinna shared tributes to honor their late costar on social media. Muldoon played Austin Reed on the soap from 1992 to 1995, before reprising his role after a 16-year hiatus in 2011.
Rinna starred on the series as Austin's sister Billie Reed during multiple periods. She posted a throwback image of herself and Muldoon on her Instagram Stories on Monday, April 20. Alongside the image, Rinna, 62, shared a broken-heart emoji.

Sweeney, who has played Samantha "Sami" Brady on the soap since 1993, reacted to the "heartbreaking news" in a post shared on X on Monday.
"Pat was a rare kind of person—brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit," Sweeney, 49, wrote. "I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away."

She added, "He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed."

Muldoon, who also made a name for himself in the 1997 cult classic Starship Troopers and in his three-season stint on Melrose Place, shared a post on Instagram two days before his death. At the time, he expressed his excitement about a new project he had lined up, a crime thriller film called Kockroach starring Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton. Muldoon was credited as an executive producer on the film.
"So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz and Alec Baldwin," Muldoon wrote in the caption.
The actor is also slated to appear a new thriller, Dirty Hands, which reunites Muldoon with his Starship Troopers costar Denise Richards.
Muldoon is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, along with his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr.; sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa, per Variety.
