In the mood for a comforting TV binge-watch after decking the halls or finishing a holiday movie marathon?
Look no further than The Office and its Dunder Mifflin Paper Company employees — including Michael Scott (Steve Carell), Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) and Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) — for heartwarming moments amid pranks and hilarious one-liners.
Throughout the NBC mockumentary's nine-season run, several episodes captured seasonal traditions, complete with festive chaos, unhinged Christmas parties and gift exchanges gone wrong. In fact, some of the funniest Scranton branch shenanigans come courtesy of the Party Planning Committee.
If streaming the Emmy Award-winning show isn't enough, add the 2024 book The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin to your wish list. The illustrated storybook was inspired and written by actor Brian Baumgartner (who played Kevin on the series) and producer Ben Silverman, offering an Office-themed iteration on the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas poem.

On the series' first Christmas episode, Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch throws a holiday party. Michael insists on swapping Secret Santa gifts, which causes Jim to spiral as he worries his sweet and sentimental present for Pam will end up in Dwight's hands. (Fun fact: A note that was supposed to go along with Jim's gift to Pam will be revealed on the show's final season.)
Series star Angela Kinsey (who played Angela Martin on the show) recalled to Yahoo Entertainment in December 2022 how the show was "struggling week to week" before this episode.
She credited it for helping them find their audience, explaining, "It turned a corner from there, and we were set."
"They just became kind of legend episodes," Kinsey said of how the Christmas-themed episodes became an annual tradition. "We were like, 'Oh my God, there's another one. It's Christmas time.' We loved dressing up. The set always looked great. We knew there was gonna be some ridiculous drama. Everyone just really loved those episodes."

Back at the office, tensions on the Party Planning Committee lead Karen Filippelli (Rashida Jones) and Pam to throw their own Christmas bash to rival Angela's.
