The New York Giants could be without star pass rusher Brian Burns for the rest of the 2026 season. Burns is reportedly feared to have torn his ACL during the team's Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN.
The injury is not 100 percent confirmed just yet, with reports suggesting the belief is that Burns sustained a torn ACL. Burns will likely undergo additional testing Monday to confirm the injury.
Burns, 28, came into the contest with an ankle injury and was unable to practice in the week leading up to Sunday's game. Despite that, he played, though his snaps were limited throughout the contest.
Burns was injured early in the fourth quarter during a pass rush. As he was rushing toward Titans quarterback Cam Ward, Burns pulled up early and grabbed at his knee. He left the field with assistance and then headed back to the locker room.

He left with one quarterback hit, but did not register any other stats.
After the game, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters, "There is some hope there," regarding Burns' injury. But Harbaugh added that Burns would undergo an MRI on Sunday night.
The pass rusher was coming off his finest season in the NFL, when he picked up a career-high 16.5 sacks and earned second-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career. Since joining the Giants via trade in 2024, Burns has been among the best defensive players on the team.
After signing a five-year, $141 million extension after that trade, Burns still has two years and roughly $42 million left on that deal.
