Fans hoping to see Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson live will have to wait after the singer canceled his latest solo tour following a back injury he suffered at a recent show.

The 49-year-old singer revealed he is unable to continue his PJ Air solo tour after slipping onstage at his Aug. 7 concert in Victoria, Australia, when his "spine connected to the drum riser," he wrote in a Tuesday, Aug. 11, Instagram post.

Jamieson said the incident left him hospitalized for most of the day. After undergoing multiple tests, he learned he had fractured his lower back and was told by doctors he would need "bed rest and a long road to recovery." He also shared several photos from his time in the hospital following the injury.

"This means, sigh, that the tour is canceled :(" he wrote. "No-one is more bummed about this than me, but I can’t stand up let alone play a gig at the moment."

The New South Wales, Australia, native confirmed that venues and ticketing agencies should contact ticket holders for refunds.

Despite the unfortunate news of the tour cancellation, Jamieson is encouraging fans to check out his upcoming album "10Charlie" when it releases on Friday, Aug. 14. The album has already dropped three singles, including "Somebody Else / Lights On," "Weekends" and "Blue as The Sunlight."

"While we won’t be launch partying together anymore… if you feel like wrapping your earholes around It, I would be grateful. Lots of work went into it and I love it," he wrote.

He thanked fans for their well-wishes and offers of support, as well as the medical team who treated him.

"I hope to see you all soon. Love, PJ in my pjs for the foreseeable future," he concluded.

Jamieson is a member of Grinspoon, an Australian rock band known for hits like "Chemical Heart" and "Hard Act to Follow." The band formed in 1995 in Lismore, New South Wales, and also includes guitarist Pat Davern.
