Gwyneth Paltrow really stepped in goop when she offered Timothée Chalamet skincare advice for a problem he *doesn't* have.

It all came about when, in the first few days of shooting their new film *Marty Supreme* together, the makeup used to create his character's acne scarring was so good that Paltrow thought it was real. Just to be nice, she suggested the skincare technique of micro-needling to help heal the supposed "scars."

Recalling the story to host Gerrad Hall on *The Awardist* podcast, Paltrow said, "Yeah, and, imagine I was up close to him, and I was like, *my gosh*, because when I had seen him [before], his skin was always so beautiful. And I was like, I didn't realize that he has this scarring on his face."

Laughing at her error, Paltrow then explained her costar's hilarious reaction to her not-so-needed advice. "And then he's like, 'Are you insane? Like, this is makeup,'" she said. "He's like, 'I have good skin.' I was like, 'I'm *so* sorry, I'm *so* sorry.' Yeah, [the makeup was] amazing."

The wellness guru and Goop founder previously said on *The Run-Through with Vogue* podcast, "In *Marty Supreme*, Timothée has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses. In real life, he has beautiful skin. He made a comment, and I was like, 'Oh, you can do micro-needling for that.' He's like, 'This is makeup.' I was like, 'Oh, s---.'"

"The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars," Paltrow continued. "Anyway, I think it would be interesting to one day do something like that."

In the upcoming awards hopeful from director Josh Safdie, Paltrow plays Kay Stone, a wealthy socialite and fading movie star who forges an unlikely connection with the younger ping-pong phenom played by Chalamet.

Paltrow, 52, previously teased a rather juicy tidbit about her character, telling *Vanity Fair* she plays "this woman who is married to someone who is in the ping-pong mafia." She and 29-year-old Chalamet's Marty "meet, and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both."

"We have a lot of sex in this movie," she added. "There’s a lot — *a lot*."

Per the logline, the film is officially described as the story of "a young man with a dream no one respects" who "goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness." In addition to Chalamet and Paltrow, the film also stars *I Love LA *breakout Odessa A'zion, *Shark Tank *star Kevin O'Leary, Tyler "The Creator" Okonma, filmmaker Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.**
