Jessie Cave has revealed that her OnlyFans venture now generates more income than her entire acting career. The actor, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter franchise, joined the subscription platform in March 2025 and discovered an unusual path to financial stability through hair-focused content.

Cave told The Times that she cleared roughly $20,200 after a single day on the platform. Within twelve months, those earnings had outstripped everything she had ever made from acting. The 39-year-old mother of four turned to OnlyFans during a period of acute financial strain.

“I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and also I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me as I work at Tesco,” she explained. Retraining also was impossible. “I can’t afford to do a degree. I had a breakdown and I thought, that’s it with acting, I give up. But also we have no money. It was a point of complete desperation.”

Rather than explicit material, Jessica Cave built her OnlyFans subscriber base around her long hair. She films herself brushing and playing with it while dressing as an elf, a maid, or occasionally her old Hogwarts character. “My rule is the hair is the main character. That’s how I justify it,” she said. “It’s literally about hair: the texture of hair. The fetish. It’s very, very niche.”

She initially expected modest returns. “I thought I’d make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we’re going to do,” Cave recalled. The reality proved far more dramatic. “It’s now been over a year and a half and it’s genuinely saved our lives.”

Her subscriber count did contract once followers understood she would not post nude or sexually explicit material. Yet a dedicated audience stayed. Cave now regards paid content as an obvious evolution for anyone building an online following.
