Hilary Duff has recently spoken about her complex family relationships, including a feud with her sister. The siblings have not been photographed since 2019, and their interactions on social media have faded away. In January, Haylie Duff liked Ashley Tisdaleās essay on her ātoxic mom groupā that allegedly included the formerās sister. In her interview with Glamour, Hilary Duff opened up about her family dynamics, which also included a feud with her sister, Haylie Duff. She talked about why she wrote songs about her sister and her father, Bob Duff, in her upcoming album. āThatās my family. Those are the people that affect you the most, take up the most space naturally as a human whoās born into something,ā Hilary said. āJust because youāre born into a family doesnāt mean that it always stays together.ā
The āLizzie McGuireā star continued, āYou can only control your side and your streetā¦. Iāve had a very complicated life, and my parents had a very complicated thing.ā The 38-year-old also said, āI know itās not rare, and I think it goes back to the theme of, Why share now? I guess I just felt ready.ā Recently, Hilary performed the track, āWe Donāt Talk,ā at her Small Rooms, Big Nerves Tour. Fans began speculating that the lyrics are hinting at the singerās estranged dynamic with Haylie.

It went as, āIām not sure when it happened / Not even sure what it was about.ā She later crooned, āāCause we come from the same home, the same blood.ā She then sang before the chorus, āPeople ask me how youāre doing, I wanna say amazing / But the truth is that I donāt know / What I always end up saying isā¦ā Hilary began the chorus, āHow we donāt talk, we donāt talk, talk about it / We donāt talk about anything anymore.
In the second verse, she talked about an alleged rivalry. āAnd if itās ācause youāre jealous / God knows I would sell it all to break you off the bigger half,ā she sang. The award-winning actor further shared the idea of fixing the issues in an emotionally charged bridge, singing, āLetās have it out / Iāll hear you out, youāll hear me out on the couch / Get back to how we were as kids / And letās break it down / So sick of being so sad about / How we donāt talk and you wonāt talk about it.ā
