A crew member working on the live-action How to Train Your Dragon 2 in the United Kingdom suffered a severe injury following an on-set accident.
On Tuesday, April 21, Variety and Deadline reported that a special effects technician working on the live-action adaptation of Universal's 2014 animated movie of the same name severed multiple fingers on one hand during an incident involving a saw at a workshop in Sky Studios Elstree, located in Borehamwood, just north of London.
As Variety reported, How to Train Your Dragon 2 — a follow-up to Universal's live-action reimagining of the original 2010 movie — began production at Sky Studios Elstree in February. The first live-action movie in the franchise was filmed in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland.
A representative for Universal Pictures declined to comment.
