Is Raiders CB Taron Johnson team’s most important extension candidate?
Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Taron Johnson is eligible for a contract extension this offseason. Johnson is three years removed from being named a second-team All-Pro honoree in 2023, and as one of the Raiders' marquee trade acquisitions from last winter, he is in line to be retained for the foreseeable future with a re-up this summer.
According to Bleacher Report's Moe Moton, Johnson is the most important candidate fitting to receive an extension from the team this summer before the 2026 NFL season commences.

"After the Raiders acquired Johnson from the Buffalo Bills, he skipped several OTA practices. … Although Johnson eventually rejoined the team before mandatory minicamp, his representatives may continue to work on an extension ahead of training camp."
Johnson is approaching the final year of the three-year, $30.7 million extension that he signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2024. He brings strong coverage in the slot as a versatile corner to Las Vegas' secondary, and at 29-years-old, is an impact player that the Raiders may benefit greatly from having for many more years to come.
