In an interview with PEOPLE, Kimora Lee Simmons reveals her dating status
Simmons also shares her candid thoughts on using dating apps
The model and mogul recently returned to TV with her show, Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane
Kimora Lee Simmons is enjoying single life.
While the model-turned-fashion mogul and reality star, 50, tells PEOPLE she doesn't currently "have any prospects," she's not planning to get on the dating apps any time soon.
"I wouldn't go on an app because I don't even know the first thing about how these people are behaving," Simmons says.
A mom of five, Simmons says she "1000%" gives her kids Ming Lee, 25, Aoki Lee, 23, Kenzo Lee, 16, Gary Lee, 16, and Wolfe Lee, 10, plus her “bonus son” Jayden, 19, dating advice.
"We're very close, and I try to give them the best advice I can," she says. "I've seen a lot of things. We're definitely all learning from each other. It's like battle of the sexes under one roof."

Simmons shares Ming and Aoki with her ex-husband, record executive Russell Simmons. After her split from Russell in 2006, Simmons dated actor Djimon Hounsou, with whom she shares Kenzo.
After her split from Hounsou in 2012, Simmons had a relationship with former investment banker Tim Leissner and welcomed Wolfe with him in 2015. (Leissner was later sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to bribery and money laundering charges.)
"Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time," Simmons says. "I'm pretty much the primary parent. It's difficult, but I don't know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird."
Through it all, Simmons — who adopted Gary from Jamaica in 2020 — says her “life doesn’t ever revolve around a guy, ever.”
"You have to look out for yourself," she says. "A man's not going to be responsible to give you everything in life. It's important to be independent."
Simmons currently stars in the new E! series Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, a follow-up to her reality show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, which ran from 2007 to 2011.
“It’s like a chapter two of life,” Simmons says. “I do think things go in a cycle — it’s not just cliché. I’m living it.”
