Kristi Noem files for divorce after 'bimbofication' scandal plagued final days under Trump

Former DHS secretary, known as "ICE Barbie," Kristi Noem officially filed for divorce from her husband, Bryon Noem, months after he admitted to his "bimbofication" fetish.

Rumors that Noem was preparing to divorce her husband, Bryon, began in July, but recent reports show she has moved forward with the process. South Dakota court records accessed by Newsweekshow, she has filed the paperwork for divorce.

The high-profile end comes after Bryon was reportedly discovered engaging in the online "bimbofication" scene and photographed cross-dressing in March of 2026. The former Homeland Security Secretary issued a statement at the time, saying she was "devastated" and that her family was "blindsided." She asked for "privacy and prayers at this time."

At that stage, Noem had already been removed from her position by President Trump and was dealing with her own controversy, having been widely accused of conducting an affair with senior aide Corey Lewandowski, something they both deny.

Noem was replaced by Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin in March 2026, with Trump announcing the change on Truth Social. "The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at “Homeland," he said at the time.

According to an AP report, Trump didn't fire Kristi over her home life. An administration official said Noem's ad campaigns, with her riding horses and posing with large guns, along with other “many unfortunate leadership failures” such as fallout from the immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota and mismanagement of her staff, led to her firing. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the private considerations for the firing.

By June, Bryon's alleged secret life was uncovered through hundreds of online exchanges involving three women in the "bimbofication" community, where participants dress and present themselves as real-life Barbie dolls.

Within those messages, Bryon reportedly lavished praise on the women's surgically enhanced figures and allegedly confessed to desiring "huge, huge ridiculous boobs."

While Bryon stopped short of formally denying taking or sharing the photographs, he did dispute the allegation that he made derogatory remarks about his wife.

Kristi Arnold and Bryon Noem met in high school, married in 1992, and raised daughters Kassidy, now 32, and Kennedy, 29, and a son, Booker, 24.
