During the wedding reception, the country music star had a sweet father-daughter dance to "Butterfly Kisses" with her dad, Brian Wilson

Lainey revealed the heartfelt reason she chose the song in a Father's Day tribute

Lainey Wilson is sharing the sweet significance behind one of her wedding songs.

On Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, the country music star, 34, reflected on an especially meaningful moment from her wedding reception earlier this year — the father-daughter dance.

"I sang 'Butterfly Kisses' at my Kindergarten graduation so of course it had to be my father daughter dance at the wedding 💖," Lainey captioned a clip of her sweet slow dance with her father, Brian Wilson, on Instagram.

She added, "Happy Father’s Day, Deddy."

The post was set to Jeff Carson's cover of "Butterfly Kisses." The country song serves as a heartfelt, emotional tribute from a father watching his daughter grow up, transitioning from "daddy's little girl" to a bride on her wedding day. Lyrics reflect on how quickly time passes, such as: "Walk me down the aisle daddy, it's just about time / Does my weddin' gown look pretty, daddy? Daddy don't cry / With all that I've done wrong I must've done something right / To deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses for life."

Lainey married Devlin "Duck" Hodges, 30, on May 10 at The Ruskin in Dickson, Tennessee, per Vogue. Notable guests included Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Lauren Alaina, Jelly Roll and Ella Langley.

Shortly after her wedding, the "Watermelon Moonshine" singer recalled the moment her father walked her down the aisle during her ceremony, which took place on a cobblestone ledge at the foot of a waterfall.

"You could hear the water trickling down and birds singing, and we had a nice spring breeze,” Lainey told Vogue. “I arrived in a white horse-drawn carriage and walked down the aisle with my Deddy to join Duck at the altar.”

She continued, "I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then. It made me feel giddy about turning the page into this next chapter of marriage. We were both anxious to say 'I do!' "

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight just one week after tying the knot, the newlyweds said they had "the coolest wedding ever." Lainey raved of her Tennessee nuptials, "It was exactly what we wanted it to be. I mean, to tell you the truth, we had our closest friends and family there, and it was just a night that we'll never forget. We think we had the coolest wedding ever."
