“Off Campus ”stars Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli address feud rumors

Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli are putting the feud rumors “to bed.”

While walking the VMAs blue carpet, the Off Campus stars admitted to laughing together about the gossip surrounding their friendship.

Fans began speculating about a rift between the pair after photos of Bright disappeared from Cameli’s Instagram grid.

A few weeks after the Off Campus stars accidentally set the internet ablaze by deleting a few Instagram posts, Bright, 19, is reassuring fans that all is well between the onscreen couple.

“Belmont and I spend every day on set together,” she told E! News on Sunday while walking the blue carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. “We’re in the green room, and he’s on his phone scrolling. He’s like, ‘Ha! Remember when we did that?’ I was like, ‘That never happened.’”

The actress added that the costars have been pretty amused by all the so-called drama surrounding their friendship, noting, “It’s so funny. We’re just laughing about it. That’s all you can do.”

Rumors of friction between the duo emerged earlier this month when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Bright and Cameli — the breakout stars behind Off Campus‘ Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham — had archived several Instagram photos featuring one another.

“I mean, god forbid I wanted an aesthetic Instagram,” Bright quipped. “My bad. I’m so sorry!”

Cameli addressed the rumors during a separate blue carpet chat with Entertainment Tonight, immediately breaking into laughter as the subject was broached.

“When I first heard those, I mean, I laugh every time I hear them,” Cameli said with a grin. “It’s really entertaining, and sometimes fascinating the conclusions people will jump to.”

He added, “I’m happy to put them to bed: Ella and I are extremely close.”

Offering some extra reassurance in her interview, Bright reiterated that there is “so much love” between all of the Off Campus stars — including castmates Mika Abdalla, Stephen Kalyn, Antonio Cipriano, and Jalen Thomas Brooks.

“That’s my family,” Bright said. Teasing the season to come, she added, “There’s some really great ensemble moments this year. Everyone’s obviously incredible, and it’s so fun to jump back into characters that we really know really well now versus season one, where it’s still a bit new and scary. It feels very comfortable, and it’s just been a blast.”

Acknowledging that the second season recently wrapped filming, she shared, “I’m really gonna miss them. I was really sad at the wrap party.”

The friendship between Cameli and Bright was on full display during Sunday night’s awards show. The duo first made sure to walk the carpet together and, later in the night, shared the stage to introduce breakout singer Sienna Spiro. Their appearance onstage was met with cheers and intense applause from the crowd.

Earlier this month, the onscreen couple attempted to dispel rumors of a feud with a joint video titled, “a message from Off Campus.” The clip began with the costars smiling, waving and blowing kisses to the camera. Though they didn’t directly address the speculation, they were all-smiles as they teased season 2.

“We just wanted to say that we have been so overwhelmed by the response to the first season,” gushed Cameli. “You guys made it what it is, and we genuinely cannot thank you enough.”

Bright then assured fans that the second season of Off Campus was already in the works, noting, “We cannot wait for you to see what’s coming. Trust us, it’s gonna be worth the wait.”

Though season 2 will shift its focus away from Hannah and Garrett, the duo will still be heavily featured on the show going forward. Off Campus creator Louisa Levy previously toldEntertainment Weekly that just because season 2 will center the romance brewing between Hannah’s best friend, Allie (Abdalla), and Garrett’s teammate, Dean (Kalyn), doesn’t mean the season 1 couple will disappear into the background.

“Sometimes you fall in love with a couple and then you get their happily ever after, and you’re like, ‘What are they gonna do next season? I don’t wanna break them up. But I still wanna watch them.’ And we will,” Levy shared. “Hannah and Garrett are still in season 2. They’re still gonna be part of it, but their love story is not the thing that’s driving the season anymore.”
