Patrick Muldoon remained on good terms with several of his exes before his sudden death.

The actor — who died at 57 years old on April 19 following a sudden heart attack, per Deadline — had several relationships in the public eye after originating the role of Austin Reed on daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. He famously dated Juliette Binoche, Denise Richards and Tori Spelling, and had a brief fling with his on-screen sister, Lisa Rinna.

More recently, the Melrose Place alum began dating Miriam Rothbart in August 2023, and has called her his "girl" in several Instagram posts since then.

Denise Richards

One of Muldoon's first and most public relationships was with Richards, who he met in acting class when she was 19 and he was 21 years old, the actor shared during an October 2025 appearance on Spelling's podcast, MisSpelling.

When Richards and Spelling reflected on sharing an ex during the March 2025 premiere of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, Richards shared that she and Muldoon dated for "almost five years" in the '90s.

The Bravo star said that her and Muldoon's relationship was "on and off," but when he started dating Spelling, Muldoon allegedly told Richards he could no longer see her.

"I used to be so jealous of you," the Wild Things actress admitted to Spelling.

Though they went their separate ways romantically, Richards and Muldoon remained close friends over the years, as she called him one of her "besties" when promoting his music video, which she starred in, in a March 2025 Instagram post.

As shared in Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, Muldoon and Spelling dated sometime in the '90s. Richards called Muldoon during the episode and reminded him of their awkward breakup as a result of his relationship with Spelling.

However, Muldoon didn't recall as much as they did: "You know, T, I don't remember the 90s. I remember both of you, but outside of that…," he said.

When they hung up the phone, Spelling called the situation "life-changing."

"Like, a man stopped seeing Denise Richards for me. F---," she said. "I always wanted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — I'm fine with this."

Juliette Binoche

Following his splits from Richards and Spelling, Muldoon dated French actress Binoche.

They dated from 2003 until 2005, per The Irish Times. According to the outlet, they reconnected around 2014, though they eventually went their separate ways.

Miriam Rothbart

Muldoon's most recent relationship was with Miriam Rothbart, who he was dating at the time of his April 2026 death.

According to the actor's Instagram, he began dating Rothbart — who is the president of the board of trustees of the Performance Art Museum, as well as a music and record producer — in August 2023.

Muldoon has shared several glimpses of their relationship on his social media, from nights out with family to holiday vacations in Aspen, Colo.
