Charles Spencer made a shocking revelation about Princess Diana in his recent memoir. He revealed that his late sister considered the possibility of becoming the US First Lady. The Earl alleged that living in the White House intrigued her more than actually marrying an older American politician.

In his new book “Swan Song: My Sister,” Charles Spencer claimed that his sister, Princess Diana, once asked him if she would make a good US First Lady. He said that she asked such a question when one of her “many powerful, aging American suitors, keen to secure her as the ultimate trophy wife, had told her he was sure he could win the presidency if she would marry him.”
“A mischievous attraction to reinventing herself in a role that would make her enemies in the British Royal Family sick with jealousy, while ushering in an era of glamour in the White House that would surely have surpassed even that of the Jackie Kennedy years,” the Earl further claimed, referring to how this move could potentially spark jealousy in the royal household (via RadarOnline).

The news also comes amid another controversial statement made in the memoir. In it, Spencer included a heated conversation between him and King Charles. He alleged that the monarch told him over the phone call, “We’ll forget her [Diana] soon enough.”
Earlier in a conversation with PEOPLE, Spencer revealed that initially only his wife and people in the book world knew about the memoir. He recalled informing Princes William and Harry at the same time as his sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane.
He admitted that the royal brothers may have been concerned about their father’s portrayal in the memoir. However, Spencer reassured, “If I wanted to write a scandalous book about Prince Charles or King Charles as he is now, it would really be a jaw-dropper, but I’m not here to do that.”
