RAYE is opening up about those Michael B. Jordan dating rumors.

The British singer-songwriter attended the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27 and spoke in multiple red carpet interviews about her and the Sinners actor’s Six Flags Magic Mountain outing last month that sparked speculation of a romance between the two stars.

In an interview with Extraat this year’s VMAs, RAYE (real name Rachel Keen) teased an upcoming professional collaboration between herself and Jordan. “I’m technically not allowed to talk about it because I might get in trouble,” she said.

The “Escapism” artist — who was spotted on multiple rides with Jordan at the Valencia, Calif. amusement park on Friday, Aug. 7 — also denied rumors of a relationship. “No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters,” she told the outlet.

In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonighton the 2026 MTV VMAs red carpet, RAYE said she and Jordan have “been working on some things, which is really nice.”

“I love it,” added the musician, who told the outlet they’re “just lovely friends.”

RAYE experienced major hit success over the past year with her song “Where Is My Husband!” Recently, she’s spoken about refusing to make her next album until the finds love — and she’s sticking to that goal.

“I’m really excited, but also not forcing that chapter,” she told ET. “It just needs to find you naturally, you know, and they do say love finds you when you stop looking. So, I’m just out here doing my work, getting it done, getting sleep when I can.”

While Jordan’s mainly kept his romantic life out of the public eye, the actor’s most recent public relationship was with Steve Harvey’s daughter Lori Harvey from 2020 to 2022.

RAYE hasn’t confirmed a public relationship in the past, but she opened up to PEOPLE about the qualities she wants in a husband in a November 2025 interview with PEOPLE.

“Words of affirmation is my love language,” she said at Bloomingdale’s N.Y.C. holiday window unveiling in partnership with Burberry. “So, you need to have the qualities of a good communicator. Communication is so important to me.”

At the 2026 MTV VMAs, RAYE performed a medley of “I Will Overcome” and “Where Is My Husband!” as well as a cover of George Michael’s “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” for a group tribute performance to the late Wham! member.
