Charlie Sheen is returning to television, and this time his real-life father, Martin Sheen, will be joining him on screen.
The Hollywood father-son pair is set to portray father and son in Happy Jack, a new AMC comedy that marks Charlie's return to a lead TV role over a decade after Anger Management concluded. While the two have appeared together previously, this new series will place their family relationship front and center.
Charlie will portray Jack, a man whose father, played by Martin, has largely taken on the responsibility of raising Jack's two daughters. This comes after Charlie Sheen shared the risk of a life-threatening drug relapse in a health update.

The six-episode comedy centers on Jack as he confronts a difficult decision about whether to continue prioritizing himself or finally step up as a reliable parent. That moment of truth arrives when one daughter introduces a new boyfriend, reports the Mirror US.
Jack is shocked to learn that the former investment banker-turned van-life guru is his own age.

The series hails from Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who both previously collaborated with Charlie on Two and a Half Men. Filming is scheduled to commence in Los Angeles early next year, with a premiere targeted for 2027.
Charlie was candid about the project's significance to him. "I've always heard the moments that truly matter happen when they're supposed to," he said in a statement. "The good folks at AMC have played a huge hand in deciding that moment is now."
He continued, "It's no secret that it's been a minute, and I'm thrilled to be going back on television in such a meaningful way in an equally wonderful show."

While Happy Jack represents a major TV comeback, Charlie hasn't completely disappeared from viewers' screens. He featured as himself in the comedy Bookie, marking a reunion with Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre following their acrimonious public dispute.

Charlie was dismissed from the hit sitcom in 2011 after a stretch of substance abuse issues and public criticism of Lorre. Ashton Kutcher took over his role.
He subsequently starred in Anger Management, which concluded in 2014.
In recent years, Charlie has openly discussed his struggles with addiction and his path to recovery. His 2025 memoir, The Book of Sheen, along with a documentary, explored his meteoric rise to stardom and the chaos that ensued.
The new project also renews a longstanding on-screen collaboration with Martin. They portrayed father and son in the 1987 film Wall Street and reunited for Anger Management.
Martin also made appearances in Charlie's shows Spin City and Two and a Half Men.
Unlike those earlier guest spots, Happy Jack positions both Sheens as central characters from the outset.
The series is set to be AMC's inaugural multi-camera comedy, recorded before a live studio audience at Warner Bros. Studios.
The network has commissioned six half-hour episodes for its debut season.
