Rod Stewart has officially announced his last ever tour, revealing he is planning to retire after more than six decades on stage.
The 81-year-old rock icon confirmed that The Final Encore, scheduled for 2027, will "most definitely" be his last tour.
The tour will feature shows across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. The announcement comes after Rod's wife, Penny Lancaster, provided an update on the singer's health.

Rod said, "The time has come to say farewell to life on the road. After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last.
"I've been singing the music I love since I was 19 years old, and I've had the privilege of taking it around the world to all of you.

"It has given me a life beyond anything I could ever have imagined, and I hope I've given you some fond memories in return.
"So, may I take this opportunity to thank you for making this extraordinary life possible."
He added, "I hope you'll join me so I can thank you the best way I know how... with the music and one hell of a show. See you there."

The arena tour will include dates in Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
European stops will include Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Budapest, Munich, Prague and Kraków. The tour will end in Hanover, Germany, in late July.
Tickets go on general sale at 10 a.m. BST on Friday, October 2, with a "Fanclub" pre-sale going live at the same time on Tuesday, September 29.

It comes days after his wife Penny, who married Rod in 2007, revealed that the Maggie May hitmaker experienced an upper respiratory infection multiple times, including once while performing at "very high altitude" during a concert.
She indicated the situation was complicated by an undiagnosed underlying heart condition.
Penny stated, "Fortunately it was at the right time at the right place and they detected a slight blockage which needed a stent."

When questioned about his current condition, the Loose Women star described Rod as being in "really good" health. Speaking to Vanessa Feltz on her At Home With Vanessa podcast, Penny also disclosed that Rod has been getting ready to resume touring.
"He's like one of the fittest guys I know, forget being fit for 80 odd, he's fit for someone my age in their 50s but, you know, you get young kids collapsing with heart issues unknown to them," she added. "Luckily for Rod it was detected and now he's eager to get back."
