At 40 years old, Lionel Messi's reign on the soccer pitch remains unmatched. The Argentina native became the all-time highest World Cup scorer after he scored Argentina's two goals during a match against Austria on June 22 and brought his total to 18.
While his name remains revered in his sport, at home, the superstar is just dad to his three sons. Messi has been married to wife Antonella Roccuzzo since 2017, and the pair welcomed their first born, Thiago, on Nov. 2, 2012. Three years later, they followed up with Mateo on Sept. 11, 2015, before the arrival of their third boy, Ciro on March 10, 2018.
"You grow and you learn," Messi said of fatherhood. "You gather experience in all aspects of life, on and off the field. But, as a human being, having three children changed my perspective on life, my way of thinking and it also helped me grow."
