Saturday Night Live UK is leaning into current headlines with sharp humor. In its latest episode, the show took aim at Kanye West following his recent controversy tied to a major London music event.
Kanye West mocked by SNL UK over recent controversy
The sketch shows wasted no time addressing the situation. During its cold open, cast members used a casual party game setup to poke fun at the controversy. In a round of “Never Have I Ever,” one joke stood out.
A character quipped about “accidentally booking a neo-Nazi to headline a music festival,” clearly seeming to referencing the situation tied to West. The moment drew strong reactions online, with many viewers calling the segment “hilarious” (via Independent).
The satire connects directly to what happened with Wireless Festival. The event was canceled after West, now known as Ye, was blocked from entering the United Kingdom. Officials withdrew his electronic travel authorization following backlash over his past antisemitic remarks. He had been scheduled to headline all three days of the festival.
Organizers later confirmed the cancellation and promised refunds. In their statement, they acknowledged the seriousness of the issue, saying antisemitism is unacceptable and recognizing the impact it has had.

The controversy also sparked political responses, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer stating that the West should not have been booked in the first place. “Kanye West should never have been invited to headline Wireless. This Government stands firmly with the Jewish community, and we will not stop in our fight to confront and defeat the poison of antisemitism,” Starmer stated (via BBC News).
West, for his part, had expressed a willingness to engage with the Jewish community in the UK. He said he wanted to “meet and listen” and hoped to show change through actions, not just words. This followed earlier apologies for his behavior, though criticism around his comments and actions has remained strong.
The sketch also branched out, taking jabs at other headlines, including a parody involving Melania Trump.
