Spain's Q1 GDP quarterly growth confirmed at 0.6%

June 25 (Reuters) - Spain's gross domestic product grew 0.6% ‌in the first ‌quarter of 2026, below the 0.8% ​growth in the previous quarter, the country's National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Thursday, ‌confirming both ⁠the expectations of analysts polled by Reuters ⁠and the preliminary data.

On an annual basis, Spain's ​first-quarter economic ​output expanded ​by 2.7%, ‌also confirming INE's preliminary reading and the analysts expectations.

The Bank of Spain said last week that it expects ‌GDP to grow ​0.5%-0.6% in the ​second ​quarter from the ‌previous three months and ​kept ​the 2026 GDP growth forecast at 2.3% and ​at ‌1.7% for 2027.
