Before there were TikTok dances and social media trends, there was Grease!

Released nearly 50 years ago today, the Paramount Pictures musical brought Rydell High to the big screen with John Travolta as Danny Zuko, Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson and a rock 'n' roll world of Pink Ladies, T-Birds and high school drama that continues to influence pop culture years later.

Directed by Randal Kleiser, the film became one of the most beloved musicals of its time (and for decades on), combining the 1950s aesthetic with the grit of the late 1970s.

Still, beneath the pink satin Pink Lady jackets, greaser hairstyles and catchy "tell me more" harmonies, every single character at Rydell portrayed an unforgettable role of its own: the bad boy, the good girl, the rebel, the class clown, the beauty-school dropout and the girl who pretends she doesn't care what people think of her.

This, of course, makes an epic line-up of characters for an astrology breakdown.

From Sandy's soft-girl persona and surprising transformation to Danny's rebellious pursuit of her love after being stranded at the Drive-In, one thing's for sure there's a Grease character that resembles each zodiac sign.

Read on for the Rydell High student you're most like, according to your zodiac sign.

Aries: Cha-Cha DiGregorio

They call me 'Cha Cha' because I'm the best dancer at St. Bernadette's! Cha-Cha is pure Fire, just like you, Aries. Despite arriving to the dance with Leo Balmudo — leader of the Scorpions — she cuts in on Sandy and ends up winning the hand jive with Danny Zuko. She's bold, fearless and a total villain, but she makes up for it on the dance floor.

Taurus: Jan

My mom's apple pie is better than this stuff! Do you want some? Hilarious, comforting and always with a snack in hand, Jan is the only Pink Lady who tells it like it is — similar to your no-filter approach, Taurus. She's loyal, steady, down-to-earth and she had no problem ditching the diner when the pie's not up to par.

Gemini: Frenchy Facciano

Would you please get me some ice to numb her earlobes? Whether it's the decision to dye her hair pink or to drop out of Rydell High and go to beauty school, Frenchy is always reinventing herself, just like you, Gemini. She's endlessly curious, scattered and changeable. Of course, leave it up to her (or a Gemini) to introduce Sandy to the Pink Ladies and invite her to a sleepover, despite having absolutely nothing in common.

Cancer: Sandy Olsson

I had some champagne at my cousin's wedding once. Despite being incredibly tough when you need to be, Sandy also gets easily hurt, just like you, Cancer. Between her hypersensitive personality and the way she's hopelessly devoted to Danny Zuko, it's safe to say Sandy is a Water sign through and through. She's also deeply observant, more so than the Pink Ladies give her credit for. But her transformation at the end speaks volumes about your Cardinal nature.

Leo: Sonny LaTierri

I know what you mean, it's tough with all those chicks hanging around you. Shamelessly theatrical and attention-seeking, Sonny is constantly performing for the room, cracking jokes and trying to position himself as a ladies' man — you're no exception, Leo. Despite the fact that his confidence is doing a lot more work than his actual game, he's desperate to be adored, and it shows.

Virgo: Patty Simcox

Hey, they just announced the nominees for student council this morning, and guess who's up for vice president? Virgo, everything from Patty's overachieving nature and commitment to Rydell High School to her polished and poised reputation is right up your alley. She's the cheerleader who also happens to be part of the student council, and her binder is perfectly labeled. Need I say more?

Libra: Marty Maraschino

Do you think these glasses make me look smarter? As a Libra, you've mastered the art of persuasion, presentation and glamour, and Marty is no different. She knows the power of a well-timed hair flip and what perfume to spray over the letters she sends to her Marine pen pals overseas. The way she effortlessly seduces Vince Fontaine at the dance makes her even more Venusian.

Scorpio: Betty Rizzo

You got a lot to offer a girl — eat your heart out. Magnetic, guarded and far more vulnerable than she lets anyone see, Rizzo is obviously a Scorpio. After all, there are worse things you could do, right? Despite being the leader of the Pink Ladies, she doesn't care to be liked. She also has no shame in taking Leo to the dance as a way to get back at Kenickie.

Sagittarius: Kenickie Murdoch

Are you kiddin'? If I eat that, I'll smell like you. Restless, freedom-loving and always chasing the next big thrill, Kenickie resembles your adventurous spirit and brutally honest approach, Sagittarius. He lives for momentum and chaos, but still has a pure heart. He rarely thinks about the consequences until they're already happening, which isn't unusual for the Fire element.

Capricorn: Principal McGee

That is no way to start a new semester, Mr. Latierre. If the zodiac had a high school principal among the 12 signs, it would be you, hands down, Capricorn. Besides, Principal McGee is a classic Saturn authority figure — she's composed, responsible, image-conscious and secretly terrified that the entire school is one bad decision away from public embarrassment. She's the backbone of Rydell High, and behind her tough exterior, she's sad to say goodbye to her seniors.

Aquarius: Principal McGee

I got chills, they're multiplyin', and I'm losing control, cause the power you're supplying, it's electrifyin'! Danny isn't afraid to break the rules, just like you, Aquarius. He may be a key member of the T-Birds, going above and beyond to keep his cool-guy reputation, but ends up experimenting and becoming an outsider in his own social circle for love. The way he rebels against the roles everyone expects him to play makes him undeniably Aquarian.

Pisces: Doody

You look like a beautiful blonde pineapple! Beneath the T-Bird leather jacket, there's a sweet, musical romantic side to Doody, similar to your complex but deeply sensitive nature, Pisces. While hiding behind humor, fantasy and music, Doody charms his girlfriend, Frenchy, with his silly jokes and innocence.
