Travis Kelce is no doubt a talented athlete on the field, having broken records and made history within the first three games of this season alone; however, the tight end is crediting an unexpected factor for his seemingly magical abilities: his hair.

Patrick Regan, the Kansas City Chiefs star’s longtime barber who goes by “Patty Cuts” on social media, shared a screenshot of a text exchange with Kelce after he helped his team defeat the Miami Dolphins 24-10 on Sunday, Sept. 27.

“The fade giving me powers dawg,” read the text the three-time Super Bowl winner, 36, sent to Regan, who simply accompanied the screenshot with the GOAT emoji, “🐐,” one day after the game.

Regan rose to prominence due to his stacked roster of clients that includes some of the biggest names in professional sports. He’s famously known as “Patty Cuts,” the title that doubles as his nickname and brand.

While he’s now a respected and sought-after barber who often travels for the job, Regan grew up in Northeast Philadelphia.

Regan has created a recognizable brand for himself, well known for his personalized hair-fading services that can cost anywhere between several hundred dollars to more than $1,000 depending on travel.

The Philly native is now based in Florida but has reportedly flown out for a few games. In addition to the Chiefs tight end, he’s worked with Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson and more top athletes.

In a June 2024 interview, Regan opened up about his relationship with Kelce on the Your Day Off Podcast and how it’s evolved as his celebrity status has grown in recent years.

“Travis is one of my bros, so I used to just go sleep at his house every weekend,” Regan said. “So, things have changed a little bit now, but it’s cool to see.”

“I’m happy for him and happy to see the stardom that he’s getting,” Regan said of Kelce, whom he described as “just a normal guy” and a “regular dude.”

Regan also spoke about his wife, Taylor Swift, whom the tight end was only dating at the time of the interview.

“It’s kind of cool to see because I know her as a person,” the celebrity barber said of the 14-time Grammy winner. “She’s very interested in what you’re saying. She doesn’t act like the most famous celebrity in the world.”

“She’s a very nice person, and she’s a good girlfriend to my friend so it’s pretty cool, it doesn’t seem too crazy to me,” he continued, though he noted how “things have changed” since the pair’s romance started.

Just before Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl in February 2024, Regan revealed that Swift has watched him cut the NFL star’s hair in Kansas City — and is a big fan of the player’s signature fade.

“Taylor loves the haircut,” Regan told Fox News. “She has watched me cut his hair a bunch of times and always compliments it after.”
